My son Darren is in a band called Hede. They played at the Cage in Agoura Hills which was their first performance after winning the battle of the bands at Agoura High. One of his main groupies (his dad) was there to catch a little of the action on camera.

Red Rock

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Since my wedding was in Vegas I thought it was a good time to go hiking at Red Rock Canyon. My brother King needed to work to set up for the wedding I was shooting later that evening. So my sister-in-law Stacy and I took off to explore. It turned out to be the perfect time of year. In addition to all the amazing textures, shadows, and dramatic vistas, that excite people like me that shoot photos of stuff, all the flora was in bloom. In dessert terrain that is usually sand and rock, the bushes were in bloom, the cacti were in bloom, and even the Joshua trees were in bloom (who even knew Joshua trees bloomed?).

Tara and David, April 25th 2008

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

This weekend’s job swept me off to Vegas. Tara and David’s wedding was intimate, classy, and spirited. Lauren Gross with the Four Seasons Las Vegas kept everything running smooth.

The twilight ceremony out on the balcony was at that perfect time of day. After a group shot of everybody at the wedding, guests were ready to party. MGM Mirage Events added many special touches to the decor including custom tables and a lounge area with custom furniture.

The Mark Barrett Agency kept guests dancing until late even though there was competition from the cigar lounge and constant action doing shots at the bar.

Shayna and David, April 13th 2008

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

When we arrived at Shayna’s parents’ home to start photos most of the family were playing pool or swimming. So we started with fun casual shots. Shayna and David were up for anything so we took their H2 limo (room for 40 and complete with interior light show) to Serrania Park. Shots included climbing trees and plenty of playing around.

The next stop was Eretz Cultural Center.  Now it was time to juggle 50 family and friends all wanting to be in as many shots as possible.  Eretz Cultural Center manager Asher Aramnia ran the event with extra care since he was also a guest.

Everybody partied hard, especially David’s friends from Israel.

Nicole’s Bat Mitzvah, April 12th 2008

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Nicole did such a great job on the bima at Valley Beth Shalom.  It put everyone in a great mood. Perfect weather and animated family members made the photo session quite high-spirited, as you can see in the images to follow.

Nicole’s hard work earned her a stunning party at El Caballero Country Club. Cindy at S & R Originals designed and decorated the room like I’ve never seen it. Mark of Ray Entertainment kept the party going with energetic dancing, spinning and flipping kids, and feather boa hand-outs.

Rivkah and Sam, April 3rd 2008

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

UPDATE: Rivkah and Sam’s online proof gallery is now active, complete with a 15% discount on all prints for the first 30 days. Please click here to view the proofs.

Just missing the rain showers the preceding day, Rivkah and Sam enjoyed patchy blue skies and great weather on a Thursday afternoon at the Universal Sheraton. Brad Schachter of Nefesh Music provided the music for the chuppa and endless dancing as MGM Catering strut their stuff with an impressive display of kosher soul-food, topped off with dessert bar, chocolate fountain and coffee bar. Ruchie Stillman coordinated, keeping the event moving like a swiss timepiece.

Justin’s Bar Mitzvah, Saturday March 29, 2008

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Justin did a great job on his Torah portion at Stephen S. Wise Temple. Then it was time to party. Kevin at LA Premier transformed Sinai Temple’s main ballroom into a Tiffany blue wonderland. Fabric on the walls and canopied tables kept a big party very intimate. Sinai’s in house caterer, Jem Caterers, really pulled out the stops with tempting food displays followed by an elegant sit down dinner. Highlights of the evening including Justin’s performance on guitar and piano and energetic dancing until 2 am!

Elliot’s Bar Mitzvah

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Elliot did a good job in front of classmates, parents, grandparents, and Brian Berkett when called to the Torah at Maimonides Academy.  The unique party held at Jillian’s was fun for all. With access to bowling, large screen Wii competition, and fun food stations, the guests all could enjoy playing and eating together. Carol at King Dahl Event Design did fun decor with colorful signs and centerpieces with photos of Elliot playing his favorite sports. The montage produced by Pixelworks was enjoyed on the multiple in house monitors. Truly a good time had by all.
